RPZ BACKFLOW

RPZ Testing & Repairs

We are a certified RPZ valve tester and installer. RPZ valves, also known as backflow valves, are installed on the water lines within your plumbing system. "RPZ" stands for Reduced Pressure Zone. Simply put, these are one-way check valves that allow water to enter the piping in your home or business but keep it from returning to the city water main. In the event of a pressure drop in the city’s water main network, water from your building does not flow back into the city's water supply.

The reason is to keep contaminants that might have been introduced to the water while it was on your property from entering the city water supply.

In Illinois all backflow valves are required to be tested yearly by a certified tester. We test these devices and send the reports to your municipality.

Backflow valve testing: $100 per device + filing fee
